Laugh Away April Showers with Stand-Up Comedy in Montreal

Five hilarious comedians are performing in Montreal this April, and nothing beats April showers like laughter. Montreal and stand-up comedy are like two peas in a pod, and we always attract the best comedians from around the world, whether it’s for our world-renowned Just For Laughs Festival or when they’re on their own tours. When you have the likes of David Cross and Anthony Rodia coming to town, you know you are about to shed a tear laughing, and if you want some homegrown talent, there is no doubt Guy Nantel or Philippe Laprise will leave you in stitches.

To make the most of your evening, why not start with dinner at one of Montreal’s top restaurants? And when the comedians leave the stage, head to one of the city’s best nightclubs or bars to keep the party going. MontrealNightlife.com can help you plan your perfect night out by booking a table at a restaurant and recommending a great place to party afterward. They can even help with your travel and accommodation needs if you’re coming from out of town. Call or text them now at 438-995-6496 to find out how you can have the perfect night in Montreal.

Here are the top five comedians performing in Montreal this April

David Cross with Sean Patton

Date and time: Sunday, April 23 at 8:00 pm

Location: Corona Theatre

David Cross, an Emmy Award winner, and two-time Grammy Award nominee, is an original performer, writer, and producer on stage and screen. He has starred in numerous films and television series and released several comedy albums and specials. Cross’ latest special, Oh Come On, is now available on Amazon Prime and Peacock, and his international Oh Come On tour has toured theaters in over 70 cities worldwide. Cross has also released two other comedy albums and directed the indie film Hits. You may also know him from the hit show Arrested Development, but we doubt he will be wearing jean short shorts.

Anthony Rodia Totally Relatable Tour

Date and time: Friday, April 28th, 7:00 pm

Venue: l’Olympia Montreal

Anthony is a first-generation Italian American comedian born and raised in Westchester, New York. He has a talent for turning any situation into comedy and has gained a large following through his use of social media. Anthony has quickly made a name for himself in the comedy scene with his hilarious sketches, song parodies, and his weekly “Road Rage Wednesday” segment featuring his popular character “Uncle Vinny.” With his unique delivery, accents, and hilarious stories, he will have you laughing until you fall out of your seat!

Guy Nantel

Date and Time: Saturday, April 8th, 8:00 pm

Location: Casino De Montreal

Nantel’s latest one-man show promises to be a humorous reflection on his political journey, giving the audience an inside look at his experiences. But as he attempts to demonstrate his political savvy, he inadvertently convinces his audience otherwise. At a time when social issues continue to divide and polarize, Nantel’s biting, ironic and realistic perspective on politics and society is a breath of fresh air. His ability to create hilarity through his commentary on social and political issues is a testament to his wit and comedic prowess. Whether on stage or through his famous vox pop, Nantel fearlessly speaks his mind and navigates the issues that affect our daily lives.

Sam Breton

Date and Time: Saturday, April 22, 8:00 p.m.

Location: Casino de Montreal

Sam Breton is taking his first one-man show all over Quebec, and after a December performance in Montreal, he returns to the Place des Arts in January. During his tour, Breton has sold over two hundred thousand tickets, and for good reason. Breton is highly expressive and quickly gets you in a laughing mood when he hits the stage. Breton is another talented comedic by-product of the Ecole Nationale De L’Humor, which has helped many other famous artists hone their skills.

Philippe Laprise

Date and time: Friday, April 21, 8:00 pm

Place: Casino de Montreal

Philippe Laprise is back with a bang with his latest show, Pourquoi pas. This is the fourth one-man show of his career, and it promises to be one to remember. Laprise’s inspiration for this show came from a significant and unusual event in his life that opened him up to new experiences and unexpected twists. Laprise’s natural ease on stage and unique storytelling ability will make you laugh uncontrollably.
