Fall is in Full Swing in October and so Is Laughter in Montreal, 4 Great Performers You Can’t-Miss Are Coming to Montreal.

Montrealer’s have an enthusiastic sense of humor and they will be having their funny bones tickled with some amazing performers hitting the stage in October. Autumn is a warning that winter is coming, and the changing colors of foliage can be bittersweet and beautiful at the same time. Laughter is the cure for many things and with performers like David Sedaris, Gad Elmaleh, Araud Soly, and Guy Nantel you just might overdose this month.

Three of these performers are no strangers to the stage and have been in show business for decades and one of the four is fairly new to the scene. If you still have any lingering regrets about missing or not watching enough shows at the Just for Laughs Festival this year, getting tickets to these events is an easy path to redemption.

Whether you like dry sardonic humor to hilarious observations on daily life you will be in good hands in Montreal with these top performers. Here are the four biggest comedy acts taking place in October in Montreal. Different Venues, Different Performers, One Goal, Laughter:

DAVID SEDARIS

Théâtre Maisonneuve, Place Des Arts, Montréal
Sunday, October 2nd, 5:00 pm

David Sedaris who is most known for being a comedic author will bring his sense of humor to life in person at Place Des Art in Montreal on October 2nd. The show starts at 5 pm, making it the perfect happy hour warm-up for a post-show supper downtown in Montreal. Booking with us we will hook you up with tickets to the show and reservations for supper at one of our favorite fine dining establishments.

David Sedaris will be sharing some hilarious stories from his series of personal essays from Calypso which I also a national best seller. Sedaris will also share stories from his latest novel called “Happy Go Lucky” where he explores life during the pandemic and everything wild that took place during the last two years or so. Reading Sedaris’ work is always a treat but to have the man himself read out those stories to you personally is an experience his fans or comedy lovers want to miss.

GAD ELMALEH D’AILLEURS

Bell Centre, Montreal
Sunday, October 30th, 6:00 pm

This will be the third time Gad Elmaleh will be performing at the Bell Centre in Montreal on October 30th. Gad’s first performance at the Bell Centre was as an opening act to none other than legendary comic Jerry Seinfeld. Gad who was born in Casablanca, Morocco moved to Montreal when he was seventeen and attended university for years without graduating. Gad eventually lived in France and became one of the country’s most popular comedians. Gad challenged himself in the late 2010s traveling to the United States to attempt his stand-up comedy in English. Although French is the language, he is most comfortable doing comedy in he managed to remain hilarious in both languages and getting Seinfeld’s attention. Gad’s performance this year at the Centre Bell will be in French and will be presented as a reunion with Montreal. Having seen Gad live myself, you must watch his show if you love comedy.

ARNAUD SOLY

Theatre St. Denis, Montreal
Friday, October 14th, 8:00 pm

Arnaud Soly will be hitting the stage in a one-man show on October 14 at Theatre St. Denis in Montreal where you can expect to not only laugh but also think about society. Soly who is from Quebec will be touring the “Belle Province” visiting over twenty cities until June 2023.

Soly is most known for his radio, television, and his ever-huge social media presence online. Soly was named one of Quebec’s most popular upcoming performers in 2021. Soly has gone viral in Quebec with his silly flute-in-nose videos but has proven that his comedic personality is the main attraction. Soly will improvise and highlight his many talents during his one-man show that lasts approximately ninety minutes.

Soly is only in his thirties and his career seems to be heading in only one direction, up! The theatre St Denis is the perfect venue because of its intimate nature meaning no matter where you sit you can get an up-close look at a burgeoning Quebecois star.

GUY NANTEL “Si Je Vous Ai Bien Compris, Vous Êtes en Train de Dire…)

Theatre Maisonneuve, Montreal
Tuesday, October 25th, 8:00 pm

Guy Nantel is one of those Quebecois performers who has withstood the test of time and will be testing your humor on October 25th at Place Des Arts. Guy Nantel is more than a stand-up comedian, he is also a writer, journalist, and social media sensation. Guy Nantel is famous for his Vox Pop videos where he would hit the streets of Montreal and ask random people questions about politics, life, and everything else under the sun. The answers Nantel accrued were hilarious and at times controversial but nonetheless, he always made you think and laugh at the same time.

Nantel also has a column in one of Montreal’s popular newspapers the “Journal de Montreal” where he never held back on his political opinions. Nantel attempted to join the political realm in 2020 when he tried to become the leader of the Parti Quebecois at the provincial level. He failed at that but that did not deter him from continuing to tour Quebec with his stand-up comedy shows.

Nantel released his latest book titled “Le Livre Offensant” which translates to “the offensive book.” Nantel pushes boundaries in all aspects of performance be it on stage, on screen, or paper. If you want to have a hilarious and controversial look at life in Quebec and abroad watching Guy Nantel is the ticket, you need to buy.
