Who is Andy Kim?

Seventy-five years ago, Andy Youakim was born in Montreal and in his teenage years moved to New York City to pursue his passion for music. Kim’s career took off in the Big Apple and before he knew it, he sold 800,000 records with his first hit “How’d We Ever Get Away”. Andy Kim is now a Canadian Music Hall of Famer for his achievements as a songwriter and pop-rock singer. Kim was no stranger to the top of the charts with hit songs like “Baby, I love you,” “Rock Me Gently,” and the ever-popular “Sugar, Sugar” which he co-wrote with the band The Archies.

Andy began using the pseudonym Andy Kim in 1976 releasing a few albums under that name before using a different name Baron Longfellow releasing more albums under that name. Andy eventually returned to using Andy Kim as his main pseudonym and has not changed it since.

Andy Kim has never stopped playing music and has sold more than 30 million records throughout his illustrious career. Andy has no intention of slowing down as a musician because his passion for the arts is deeply ingrained in him.

His Christmas concerts are not only renowned for the great performances that will make you smile but because of all the money, he has been able to raise for various causes. Andy Kim has always given back making him not only an exemplary musician but also an incredibly generous and caring human being. What The Show Is All About

The whole purpose of Andy Kim’s concert is to raise funds for the Starlight Children’s Fund which has helped children and their families for over thirty years. Much like the “Make a Wish Foundation” Starlight works with seriously ill children who may or may not be winning their battles with disease and sicknesses. Starlight has different programs that can include special programs for children who cannot leave the hospital or for those who cannot leave their homes.

Granting wishes in various forms from meeting their favorite hockey players or hanging out with Disney princesses the Starlight Children’s Foundation will find a way to make one of these kids smile. Having a family is challenging enough and when one of our children gets really sick even the holiday season can struggle to bring joy into their lives.

Organizations like the Starlight Foundation and artists like Andy Kim are crucial in supporting their programs by raising crucial money to support their vast array of programs. If you cannot attend the show, you can still donate to the Starlight Children’s Foundation by Clicking here: https://www.starlight.org/.

Your donation will help the foundation keep adding smiles to young children’s faces and truly captures the spirit of Christmas and the holidays.
