Enter the Wild Imagination of Corteo

Corteo is an Italian word that means a joyous procession or how a parade would unfold through the wild imagination of a clown. You will witness the clown’s thoughts on his funeral and the magic that will ensue will have you in awe and pondering about life after death.

Corteo’s stage will be set dead center in the arena that sits the audience in two having them face each other creating a unique experience. Corteo is poetry coming to life and the intricate set design is just another beautiful facet of this incredible show.

Fun for the Whole Family

Corteo is perfect for the holiday season because it is a celebration of life in all of its spontaneity. Corteo is family-friendly which means you can take advantage of their family package deals and give your children an experience that will have their eyes off their phones the whole show.

Keep in mind that there will be loud moments and darkness that will envelop the entire arena will be used which can make some young children uncomfortable. Cirque De Soleil also wars that their light show will be fairly active meaning flashing lights are used which can be difficult for those with epilepsy or who are photosensitive to enjoy the show.

A Romantic Night with a Loved One

Corteo can also be a fantastic date night for you and that special someone in your life and you can make a whole night of it visiting one of Montreal’s fine restaurants before or after the show. If you are struggling to figure out gifts for friends and family, you can surprise them with an early gift with tickets to the show before Christmas or for shows after the 25th

Corteo is offering numerous viewing times that also include early afternoon start times which makes the show, even more, kid friendly. Here are the showtime listings:

Do not worry if you cannot afford to be up close because the show maintains its high quality and interactive nature from wherever you may be sitting in the arena.

The History of Cirque De Soleil

Cirque de Soleil began as a small troupe of street performers in 1984 in the province of Quebec, Canada. Since then, the company has continued to grow into an industry leader and household name. Cirque de Soleil is known for its unique artistic shows that cater to many viewers. Blending classic circus appeal with modern has made it nearly a stand-alone in the industry. It employs 4000 employees including 1400 artists. They have been able to reach more than 180 million spectators throughout their lifetime.

Cirque De Soleil’s main attraction is its live production shows that integrate acting, athletics, and colorful set designs to keep audiences satisfied and coming back. Cirque de Soleil has multiple differently themed performances such as: Under the Same Sky, Ka, Michael Jacksons One, Mystere, O, The Beatles Love, Zumanity, Nysa, Crystal, Joya, The Land of Fantasy, Totem, Corteo, Kooza, Allegria, Luzia, Drawn To Life, Kurios: Cabinet of Curiosities, Messi 10.

Each show is unique in terms of artistic themes and inspiration. The commonality shared within all the shows is the performative aspects of diverse types of performers such as acrobats, strong men, trapeze artists, comedians, BMX specialists, aerial performers, and more. Music is integral in all the shows because of the lack of dialogue in the shows themselves. Cirque de Soleil uses abstract methods to tell their stories, some are easier than others to interpret but they always inspire conversation about what was seen.
