Beautys Luncheonette is more than a restaurant—it is a Montreal institution. Open since 1942, this iconic spot at the corner of Mont-Royal and St-Urbain has been serving generous breakfasts and brunches for over eight decades, making it a beloved destination for locals and tourists alike. Founded by the legendary couple Freda and Hymie Sckolnick, the establishment is now run by the second and third generations of the family. The name “Beautys” refers to the nickname of Hymie’s vintage bowling team.
Atmosphere & Décor
Located in the former Bancroft paper mill established in 1891, Beautys looks like it’s straight out of the 1950s. The retro décor features vintage tables, blue benches, lots of aluminum, and objects that recall the years of the past. With just over 70 seats, the restaurant is full all day, every day, all year round. People sometimes wait for a “five minutes and your table will be ready” that turns into an hour—which is almost part of the charm of the place.

The legendary Vans Warped Tour returns to Montreal for two massive days at Parc Jean-Drapeau! Originally conceived in 1995 as an eclectic alternative rock festival with a focus on punk rock, the tour grew to include a multitude of genres including metal, hip hop, reggae, pop, and more. Over its 31-year history, it built a legacy as the must-attend summer festival for rock and music lovers, providing a platform for established as well as up-and-coming artists with past performers including Blink-182, No Doubt, Sublime, Beck, Katy Perry, NOFX, Limp Bizkit, Green Day, Eminem, Yellowcard, and Bad Religion.
