Here are three of the best Ice Cream Shops in Montreal

Ripples

Locations: 3971 St Laurent Blvd, Montreal, QC H2W 1Y4, 5554 Jeanne Mance, Montréal, QC H2V 4K6

Ripples Ice Cream Shop has come a long way since owner Richard Bernett started making ice cream at home. After falling in love with the craft, he expanded his repertoire to more than 30 flavors and has served up frozen treats on St. Laurent Boulevard for over 35 years. In 2019, he opened a second location on Jeanne-Mance Street and recently added another outpost in the heart of Mile End. Bernett, a self-proclaimed “flavorist” and scientist, is constantly experimenting with new flavors and textures, resulting in a display that offers a nice balance of classic and eccentric offerings.

There is a focus on soft serve, with opportunities to add toppings, dip cones in coatings, and even try a “yorbet” swirl of sorbet and frozen yogurt. With the help of his son, Bernett continues to perfect his craft and expand the Ripples brand, and we cannot wait to see what delicious treats they produce this summer.

Kem Coba is a famous ice cream shop in Montreal’s Mile End neighborhood that offers a unique twist on traditional ice cream flavors. Founded in 2012 by two friends, the shop quickly gained a following for its rich, creamy ice cream and creative flavor combinations. Today, Kem Coba continues to innovate with an ever-changing menu that includes inventive flavors like Vietnamese coffee, pandan, and lychee rose. The shop also offers a selection of vegan and dairy-free options, making it accessible to a broader range of customers. Dalla Rose

Location: 4609 Notre-Dame St W Suite 1, Montreal, Quebec H4C 1S5

Dalla Rose is a cozy ice cream shop in the heart of St-Henri, Montreal. Since opening its doors in 2015, Dalla Rose has been serving up some of the city’s most delicious ice cream flavors. The shop’s founders, David and Fanny, draw inspiration from their travels around the world to create flavors that are both innovative and nostalgic. One of the shop’s standout flavors is “Maple Taffy,” inspired by the Canadian tradition of pouring hot maple syrup over fresh snow to create a sweet, sticky treat. Dalla Rose’s version is made with a maple ice cream base and ribbons of maple syrup swirled throughout, creating a deliciously decadent treat perfect for any season. Another popular flavor is the Cinnamon Bun, which features a cinnamon ice cream base, cinnamon bun chunks, and a swirl of cream cheese frosting. If that does not make you scream for ice cream, nothing will!

Dalla Rose also serves a variety of delicious baked goods, including brownies, cookies, and scones. The shop also offers vegan and dairy-free options. The cozy atmosphere of the shop, with its wood-paneled walls and vintage decor, makes it the perfect place to relax and enjoy a sweet treat. Whether you are a local or a tourist, a visit to Dalla Rose is a must for anyone looking for a unique and delicious ice cream experience in Montreal.
