Attention all friends and lovers of poutine! The Grand Poutinefest is FINALLY hitting the road again, and we’re excited to reveal that the first stop of the 2024 summer tour will be in Anjou from April 25th to 28th. Prepare your forks—Anjou, we’re coming your way! 

History of the Festival

The Grand Poutinefest was founded to celebrate Quebec’s quintessential comfort food, poutine. The festival unites top poutineries from across the province, allowing them to display both traditional and innovative twists on poutine. Over the years, it has grown into a significant culinary event that attracts enthusiasts from all over, eager to indulge in the rich flavors and creative combinations.

Location and Details

This year, the festivities kick off with our first event in Anjou, Montreal, located in the parking lot of the Galeries d’Anjou near Aubainerie. Here are the detailed schedules for the event:

  • April 25 (Thursday): 17:00 to 21:00
  • April 26 (Friday): 17:00 to 21:00
  • April 27 (Saturday): 12:00 to 21:00
  • April 28 (Sunday): 12:00 to 20:00

Poutinefest will continue throughout the summer in several other locations, each offering a unique setting for the festival’s delightful culinary experiences.

What to Expect in Anjou 

Poutinefest offers more than just delectable poutine; it’s an expansive festival with activities and entertainment suitable for all ages. Attendees can look forward to a fun-filled atmosphere with nearly 300 feet of outdoor inflatable courses, vibrant music shows, engaging animations, interactive games, and various balloons and candies to captivate children and adults. The festival atmosphere is enriched with live music and entertainment featured at every venue, ensuring a lively and festive experience. For those with a taste for quality brews, there’s an array of craft beers from some of Quebec’s finest microbreweries. A dedicated sweets truck will also be on-site, offering perfect pairings to complement your poutine choices. This combination of family-friendly fun, live entertainment, and local treats makes Poutinefest a memorable event for everyone.

Several renowned and upcoming poutineries will be setting up their booths, each presenting their unique take on poutine. Here are some standout poutines to look out for:

  • Lobster Poutine: Indulge in the luxury of succulent lobster pieces mixed with traditional fries and cheese curds, all brought together with a rich, garlic-herb sauce.
  • Pulled Pork Poutine: Enjoy the rich flavors of slow-cooked pulled pork layered over crispy fries and squeaky cheese curds, topped with a smoky BBQ sauce.

  • Sustainable Practices: All poutines will be served in reusable, dishwasher-safe dishes, and 50 cents from each poutine sold will be donated to a local foundation.

Entry to Poutinefest is free, with food and drink available for purchase. Special ticketed events like the Éric Lapointe concert have separate pricing. Premium packages are available for those seeking a more exclusive experience, from VIP seating at concerts to all-you-can-eat poutine samplings.
