Get in the mood for a jolly Christmas with these winter classics

Christmas and the holiday season in Montreal are an experience in itself and adding some incredible music to the menu is the best way to lift your holiday spirits up. Across the island of Montreal, there will be plenty of Christmas concerts that are geared towards one thing, getting in the mood for the holidays. You will feel the nostalgia of your childhoods and perhaps share your experiences with loved ones too. 

These shows are also great early Christmas gifts or an easy date night with your significant other. Who can resist listening to some classical renditions of your favorite songs such as Let it Snow, Jingle Bells and Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire? Music is the gateway to our souls, and the following concerts will unlock everything good about the holidays.

Holiday Melodies

Location: Maison Symphonique 

Genre: Big Band/Jazz


The Orchestre Metropolitan is teaming up with vocalists Melissa Bedard and Kim Richardson to perform all your favorite Christmas carols. Expect your favorite tunes to have a Big Band flair, sure to get your feet tapping. 

Lyrico- A very Operatic Christmas

Date and Time: Sunday December 4th 7:30pm

Location: Salle Wilfrid Pelletier

Genre: Opera


Maestro Francis Choiniere will lead the Film Harmonic Orchestra and Choir as the Canadian trio that makes up the operatic group Lyrico will serenade those in attendance with beautiful holiday music. The trio of Marco Bocchicchio, Sam Champagne and Ian Sabourin promise to carry you away through song into the holiday seen and will be an absolute delight.

Christmas Songs with Rafael Payare

Date and Time:  December 14th 7:30pm, December 15th 2:30pm, 7:30pm

Location: Maison Symphonique

Genre: Classical Music and Choir music


Come sing along with the OSM Chorus and Les Petite Chanteurs du Mont Royal who will sing Christmas Carols that you love. Rafael Payere and the OSM will provide the powerful backdrop only a full orchestra can provide. 

J. S. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio Conducted by Leonardo García Alarcón 

Date and Time: December 21st and December 22nd 7:30pm

Location: Maison Symphonique

Genre: Classical Music


Johann Sebastian Bach’s timeless music and conductor Leonard Garcia Alarcon will conduct the OSM and perform his version of the Christmas Oratorio. The central theme is the nativity story from the bible and is a celebration of life. 

Candlelight Christmas 2022

Date and Time: December 8th to 11th, 4:00pm and 8:00pm performances

Location: Loyola Chapel, Concordia University 7141 Sherbrooke St. West

Genre: Christmas Songs


Forty singers will grace the stage at the Loyola Chapel at Concordia university, and you will be delighted by their takes on Christmas music that has grown with us over the years. The event will be candlelight adding to the warm atmosphere and will put everyone in attendance in the Christmas spirit. 

Andy Kim Christmas 

Date and Time: Saturday, December 10th 8:00 pm

Location: Corona Theatre

Theme: Pop/Rock/ Variety, Fund Raiser


Andy Kim’s annual Christmas Concert is raising money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and will include many special guests. Joining Andy Kim on stage to perform will be Montreal’s own The Damned Truth, Ron Sexsmith, Sam Roberts, and other surprises. 

Boney M featuring Liz Mitchell

Date and Time: Wednesday December 14th 8:00pm

Location: L’Olympia Theatre

Theme: Gospel/Soul/Funk/Disco


Liz Michell returns to Boney M to perform all their classic songs, including numerous holiday favorites. If you asked Santa Claus for a soulful funk Christmas Boney M at the L’Olympia is your with, come true. 

Noel Gospel 

Date and Time: Saturday December 10th 3:00pm and 8:00pm

Location: Salle Pierre Mercure

Genre: Gospel 


When you combine two choirs and a live band to perform your favorite yuletide songs, you know Christmas season is in full swing. Seventy singers that make up the Jireh Gospel Choir and the Montreal Gospel Choir will take your breath away with a one-of-a-kind performance. 

A Charlie Brown Christmas 

Date and Time: December 14th to 16th 6:00pm and 8:00pm

Location: Montreal Museum of Fine Arts Bourgie Hall

Genre: Jazz/Choir


Bourgie Hall will host everyone’s favorite Charlie Brown Christmas and feature the Maurey Butler Trio. The Taurey Butler Trio will bring their jazz skills and help you feel those rhythms we loved to listen to when watching Charlie Brown One thing is certain, that by the end of the show you will not be saying Good Grief!

Casino De Montreal Presents: Noël Une Tradition En Chanson

Date and Time: December 6th 2:00pm and 8:00pm

Location: Casino de Montreal Cabaret 

Genre: French/English music


Montreal’s famous Casino will be hosting their fifth annual Christmas celebration in style with multiple singers and musicians who will sing in English and French. Some of the artists performing include Joe Boucan, Shirley Theroux, Suriot, Martine St. Claire and Luce Dufault. 

Casino De Montreal Presents: Jeunesse D’hier Et D’aujourd’hui Fêtent Noël
