French Music Takes Center Stage at Place des Arts This April

Place des Arts will host amazing concerts in April to get Montreal in the mood for a vibrant spring. French music stars will dominate the Place des Arts throughout April, allowing everyone to explore Quebec culture through music. The program will have plenty of classical music, including a tribute to the one and only John Williams, known for many of the signature songs from the Star Wars franchise and other blockbuster films.  Harry Potter fans will also be able to satisfy their inner wizard when the soundtrack from “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” is performed live. Not to be forgotten, Chris De Burgh will also be on stage to perform all his solo and Supertramp hits.  Place Des Arts is Montreal’s cultural hub, and with all these great shows just a click away, we are all in for a treat this April.

Laurie et Adam – Frère et soeur

The orchestra La Sinfonia de Lanaudière, conducted by maestro Stéphane Laforest, performs the big band ballroom version of Sinatra’s hits. Singers Marc Hervieux, Christian-Marc Gendron, Martin Fontaine and Christian Bégin will enchant you with their voices as they perform hits from the big band ballroom era, including “I’ve got you under my skin”, “Sway”, “New-York-New-York”, “My Way” and “In the mood”.

Gérald Gagnon – Paradis Décimal

On piano or guitar, Gagnon shares his unique perspective on society and his personal journey through a blend of jazz and rock-influenced piano playing. His lyrics are filled with irony, drawing from his own experiences and the world around him. 

Wizards and Jedi: An Evening with John Williams

British conductor Ben Palmer joins the OSM for the first time to lead a program featuring iconic composer John Williams. The orchestra will perform selections from Williams’ legendary film scores, including Harry Potter and Star Wars.

14th Concert contre le cancer – La musique de Céline, symphonique!

Join the fight against cancer with the Montreal Cancer Institute’s 14th benefit concert: “Celine’s Music, Symphonic!” A symphonic tribute to the career of Céline Dion, performed by the Orchestre Symphonique de Longueuil and soloists Annie Villeneuve and Brigitte Boisjoli. The goal of the event is to raise funds for oncology research and to provide CRCHUM’s Cancer Research Axis with the means to defeat cancer.
